Three story evangelism is a tried and true method that Campus Life
teaches its student leaders to bring people to Christ. There are three stories: your story,
His story (Jesus' Story), and their story
(the friend your trying to bring to Christ)
Step 1
You have a story of your life. It is what
has happened in your life to
get you where you are and the thoughts you have about things that surround
you in your world. This is called your
"testimony".
Step 2
If you are a Christian, your story will include the story of Jesus
Christ, and your story will include how Jesus' story and his
forgiveness and mercy have changed your life.
Step 3
Your story coupled with Jesus' story is a powerful tool when you are
trying to get a friend to come to Christ. Your friend, (the
"their story" circle in the graphic) doesn't have Jesus as part
of his story. Your end goal is to get your friend's story to
have Jesus' story with it because then you know that your friend has come to
Christ too.
So how do I get Jesus' story with my
friend's story?

By knowing Jesus' story and having His story in your story you then
have a powerful tool. That powerful tool is personal experience, and
you can tell your friend your story, which has Jesus' story with it, and
show him how Jesus has helped you and how He will help your friend...
there is another part though, before you get ahead of yourself and start
talking about all these stories you need to stop and listen to your
friend's story. Relate with him to find out his story and what has been
rough with his. That way you know what's going on with your
friend. That's no big deal though... right, I mean if you are friends
you would have wanted to do that anyway.

If your friend accepts your story and comes to know Jesus Christ, now
all your stories should interrelate. Your story still carries His
story but now it also will carry your friend's story. And now your
friend carries His story.
